Friday Harbor Trip:  pg 1 PWT-FHR leg | pg 2 on ground in Friday Harbor | pg 3 FHR-PWT leg

Climbing out from Friday Harbor runway 16, Kellie got this shot looking east at Lopez Island:

Still on climb out from Friday Harbor, this picture is looking back to the northeast with Lopez Island being closest, then Shaw Island and Orcas Island in the background (I had turned east slightly to stay a little closer to San Juan and Lopez Islands as I gained altitude for the water crossing):

View of the Olympic mountains near Hood Canal on our way back to Bremerton:

Only got two of the cruise ships in this picture but we had three of them in close trail as they rounded Point Wilson near Port Townsend, headed out into the Straits of Juan De Fuca from their Seattle departure point.  Brought back a few memories for me from the "good old days" when I served on the USS ALABAMA and made that transit as Officer of the Deck a few times!  Water was incredibly calm on this very warm day with very low winds in an area where it often blows pretty hard:

Close up of cruise ship #3 of the "in-trail" slow moving formation:

Nice view of the Jefferson County airport near Port Townsend:

This is a view of our new home town, Poulsbo, WA on Liberty Bay.  Our new home is within a mile or two of the Home Depot and Walmart that are the big buildings above the bay and city in this picture (if you're familiar with the charts near here, yes I was clear of the nearby prohibited area, P-51):

View of the Hood Canal bridge from the south, looking north with Hansville in the background:

Nice view of Keyport, WA where the waterway leads into Liberty Bay and the Poulsbo waterfront:

Agate Pass bridge to Bainbridge Island is visible here (only way onto Bainbridge Island other than ferry ride from Seattle or private boat!).  The large building and parking lot is the Clearwater Casino and Resort, owned and run by the Suquamish Tribe:

This photo was taken from over Bainbridge Island, showing the downtown Seattle area and waterfront:

View of the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as we came over East Bremerton headed for the Bremerton airport:

And here we are on short final to N731CK's new home:
