Hanging the engine in the garage in Poulsbo, WA before moving the project to CA:
Used an engine hoist to help maneuver the engine while getting the four bolts in. Getting the bolts in was a little tougher than it looks:
It's pretty much impossible to get a torque wrench on the engine bolt nuts, so you can either approximate by hand or approximate using the torque wrench on the bolt head. You can see the electrical system is starting to take shape as well:
Here it is with the engine all bolted in place for the first time. The gold box bolted to the forward fuselage rib is the "brain box" for the Trio Altitude hold auto-pilot.
Justin is still wondering when we'll get to fly this airplane. It's on the gear, engine mounted, nearly ready for the U-Haul trip to California for our summer 2006 move from Washington to California:
